Rotary Swaging Machine

Micron's Rotary Swaging Machine is used for a special application of forging, by making hammer blows in quick succession the metal get formed on to the desired shape. This method has been widely recognised as one of the most economical way of forming.

Rotary Swaging is widely used for the process which involves perfect circular forming of either tubes of solids.

Since swaging forms the metal by displacing in to the desired shape there is a rare chance of scrap of the material. This is an advantage which hardly offered by any other process. After the swaging process the final product has a better grain structure, improved tensile strength and fine surface finish. The process is perfectly suitable with most of the design requirements.

Machine Features
  • Micron's rotary swagger consists a spindle driven by and electric motor coupled to a cast iron fly wheel for higher inertia.

  • The hammer blocks are mounted on to the spindle which is attached to the fly wheel.

  • the slots  in the spindle head carry the dies and hammers.

  • The rotations of the spindle make the dies and hammers fly apart in the slot due to the centrifugal force.

  • this force applies  a pressure on to the dies which gradually increases as the hammers are passing over the rollers. This force causes the metal under it to be forced to shape up according to the form of dies.
